Chihuahua Legends: Filmmaker to Adapt Popular Folklore

A filmmaker is turning to audiences to help determine the subject of his next project, gauging public reaction to a series of traditional stories. The director aims to identify which legend resonates most strongly with digital viewers, potentially shaping the focus of a future cinematic release.

The project is a fresh approach to storytelling, leveraging technology whereas also working to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Chihuahua, both within Mexico and internationally. The filmmaker, who has spent over three decades in the industry, also has experience as a producer, editor, and writer.

He is currently putting the finishing touches on his latest film, Luces distantes, which was filmed in Samalayuca. The movie explores reports of alleged extraterrestrial sightings in that region of the state.

Rocío Padilla is collaborating with the filmmaker as an associate producer, developing new audiovisual projects centered around local stories. This collaboration highlights a growing trend of filmmakers focusing on regional narratives and cultural preservation.
