How to Perform the Bayram Prayer

When stating the intention, specify which Bayram prayer is being observed. For example, “I intend to perform the Ramadan Bayram prayer for the pleasure of Allah, following the imam.”

Following this, with the imam:

First Rakat

*After making the intention for the Bayram prayer, the takbir is recited and hands are clasped.
*The imam and congregation silently recite the “Subhaneke” prayer in sequence.
*Similar to the initial takbir, hands are raised to ear level for the second takbir and then lowered to the sides.
*The third takbir is recited and hands are lowered to the sides again.
*Then, the fourth takbir is recited, and this time, hands are clasped at the navel.
*The imam silently recites “Euzu besmele,” then aloud recites the “Fatiha” surah along with a supplementary surah or an equivalent portion of the Quran.” The congregation listens silently.
*Ruku and sujud are performed, and the congregation rises for the second rakat.

Second Rakat

*The imam silently recites “Besmele,” then aloud recites the “Fatiha” surah along with a supplementary surah or an equivalent portion of the Quran. The congregation listens silently.
*Then, hands are raised to ear level for the first takbir, and lowered to the sides, similar to the initial takbir.
*The second takbir is recited, and hands are lowered again.
*The third takbir is recited, and hands are lowered again.
*Finally, the fourth takbir is recited, but this time, hands are not raised to the ears and the congregation proceeds to ruku.
*After ruku and sujud, the congregation sits, recites the “Tahiyyat” and “Salli-Barik” prayers, and completes the prayer with a greeting to the right and then to the left.
*Following this, three takbirs (tashriq) are recited collectively, accompanied by the muezzin. The imam then ascends the minbar and delivers the Bayram sermon.
