Tech enthusiasts looking for detailed laptop comparisons will wish to check out the YouTube channel Max Tech. The channel previously gained attention in January 2026 with a comparison of laptops around the $750 price point. This month, the team turned its focus to the recently launched Apple MacBook Neo, which officially retails for $599 in the United States.

To provide a comprehensive comparison, the team sourced competing models from Amazon US, aiming for similar price points and a comparable 13-inch screen size to the MacBook Neo. They selected a Dell Inspiron Plus 14″ featuring an AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor ($659), an Acer Aspire 14″ with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor ($499), and an ASUS Vivobook 14″ powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor ($634). These laptops will go head-to-head against the Apple MacBook Neo and its A18 Pro processor ($599). A key difference: the Windows laptops all feature 16 GB of RAM, although the MacBook Neo is equipped with 8 GB. This setup allows for a test of how well the MacBook Neo performs despite the memory difference, given Apple’s reputation for efficient memory management.

The 19-minute video comparison is now available for viewing. As expected, the MacBook Neo, with its 8 GB of RAM and A18 Pro chip, couldn’t match the raw performance of models with AMD or Intel processors. Yet, it offers several compelling advantages that could make it a strong contender for users with specific needs.
