Žilina, Slovakia – The city of Žilina is preparing to host its 30th annual Staromestské slávnosti (Old Town Festival) from May 28-30, 2026, with organizers promising a range of modern attractions and entertainment for all ages. This year’s celebration will feature a parade of masks departing from in front of the City Hall, bringing a festive energy into the city center. The parade will be followed by a program on Mariánske Square, including a welcome for the Dragon and Queen at 3:15 p.m. And performances by folklore groups, culminating in the burial of the bass at 4:00 p.m., according to the festival’s official website.
