Oil prices rose Friday as tensions in the Middle East continued to disrupt energy markets.
Recent attacks in the Middle East have sent ripples through global energy markets, driving up both oil and gas prices. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil transport, is at the center of the concerns.
Brent crude oil traded at $109.90 a barrel at 11:45 a.m. Friday, a 2.2 percent increase for the day.
The price has rebounded somewhat after a sharp increase on Thursday was followed by a decline later in the day.
