Azerbaijani club Sumgayit is showing strong interest in CSKA’s Ilian Iliev Jr., whose contract with the Bulgarian team expires on June 30th. The club, currently managed by former CSKA coach Sasha Ilich, is reportedly keen on acquiring the attacking midfielder on a free transfer, according to reports.
Sumgayit has already made contact with Iliev, capitalizing on his expiring contract.
Iliev is taking a measured approach, wanting to assess his options regarding a potential stay at CSKA, though a continuation with the club appears unlikely at this stage.
A Kazakh team has also expressed interest in Iliev, but that interest is currently described as exploratory, although the offer from Sumgayit is considered more serious.
