Dubai, March 20, 2026 – Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad al-Kaabi has warned U.S. Officials and executives of potential repercussions for other nations should Iranian oil and gas facilities be targeted. This caution comes as Qatar itself deals with the fallout from an alleged Iranian attack on QatarEnergy.

Al-Kaabi, who also serves as the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, told Reuters, “I have always been warning, and I’ve been talking to executives from oil and gas companies that are partners with us, and with the U.S. Secretary of Energy, to alert them to the consequences of that, and that it could be harmful to us.”

QatarEnergy’s partners include major American energy companies such as ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips.

The development underscores rising regional instability as tensions between Iran and other nations in the Middle East continue to escalate.
