Czech actress Regina Řandová continues to captivate audiences even as she approaches her 60s, maintaining a youthful glow that has been a hallmark of her career since her breakout role in the 1983 film, “Bota jménem Melichar.”
Currently starring in the television series “Kamarádi,” Řandová is preparing for a return to the stage with a premiere of the comedy “Slané polibky” alongside the Háta theatre company. Despite her continued work in performance, she’s increasingly opting for a more natural look in her personal life, prioritizing sleep and hydration over heavy makeup.
Řandová emphasizes the importance of thorough skincare, particularly removing makeup, a necessity given the demands of her profession. She notes that theatrical and film makeup can be harsh on the skin, requiring multiple layers throughout long shoots. She favors gentle, non-oil-based makeup removers, often choosing products from DM, finding they effectively remove even long-lasting mascara without causing irritation.
As she’s gotten older, Řandová has scaled back her makeup routine, recognizing that many products can accentuate wrinkles and imperfections. She now focuses on skincare – moisturizing, facial massage, and serums – finishing with a light dusting of Max Factor powder and a touch of mascara, even when heading to the gym.
Řandová, born Regina Zahradníková on September 21, 1967, in Prague, has enjoyed a prolific career in Czech film, television, and theatre. She’s also a well-known voice actress, providing dubbing for stars like Angelina Jolie and Demi Moore. In 2015, she received the Audience Award at the František Filipovský Awards for her role in “Zloba – Královna černé magie.” She was married to actor Čestmír Řanda mladší, and they have one son, Čestmír.
