South Korean actor Gong Yoo continues to draw international attention, evidenced by the incredibly quick sell-out of tickets for his masterclass event.
A masterclass featuring Gong Yoo took place Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Cinema La Compagnia in Florence, Italy. Tickets for the session sold out within just three minutes of going on sale, demonstrating the actor’s enduring popularity with fans.

The masterclass was part of the 24th Florence Korea Film Fest, running from March 19-28, 2026. The festival has introduced over two thousand Korean films to Italian audiences.
According to AllKpop, public enthusiasm was exceptionally high. Although the masterclass began at 11:00 AM local time, fans began queuing as early as 6:30 AM to secure front-row seats.
This level of excitement is unusual for the festival, now in its 24th year. Organizers noted the diverse audience, including not only young fans but also many middle-aged women who traveled from as far away as the United States and France.
Many attendees who were unable to obtain tickets remained outside the cinema, hoping for a glimpse of the actor.
The masterclass itself lasted one hour, during which Gong Yoo discussed pivotal roles throughout his career, including those in “Coffee Prince” and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” as well as his innovative work in “Train to Busan.”
He also addressed projects tackling social issues, such as “Silenced” and “Kim Ji-young, Born 1982,” and the global hit series “Squid Game.”
The city of Florence also presented Gong Yoo with a Cultural Development Merit award in recognition of his contributions to cultural exchange.
