Most people struggle to truly decorate their homes in a way that reflects their personal style. But Paige Thalia managed to bring the glamour of the red carpet into her own living space – and she did it for free! Here’s how she pulled it off.

The Young Woman Had a Brilliant Idea!

At 32 years ancient, Thalia is a production assistant who recently moved to Hollywood. She’s still learning the ropes of film sets and celebrity habits, but she’s quickly becoming an expert in the industry. In the meantime, she was looking for a way to improve her apartment’s décor.

While walking her dog, a cockapoo named Cove, she stumbled upon the preparations for the Oscars ceremony. A massive red carpet was laid out in front of the Dolby Theatre. That’s when she thought to herself: “The idea came to me, as I walked on the red carpet, that maybe I could locate this carpet after the ceremony”.

In fact, Thalia had been dreaming of having this red carpet in her living room for quite some time. And recently, Steve Olive, owner of Event Carpet Pros, made some surprising statements to the Modern York Times. He revealed that the carpets he makes are made from recycled materials. Meaning everyone can reuse them after the ceremonies!

Her Epic Quest for the Oscars Masterpiece!

On Monday, March 16th, after the stars had left the Dolby Theatre, a young woman stood there. Of course, it was Thalia, hoping to retrieve the carpet. But the area was already deserted upon her arrival. The cleaning crew had already packed everything away, leaving her with no chance of finding anything.

Far from being discouraged, Thalia decided to inspect the area before leaving. After wandering for several minutes, she arrived behind the set of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. There, she noticed several dumpsters that seemed a little too clean. They contained the piece she had despaired of finding!

The young woman then asked a security guard if she could accept the carpet home. “I said: ‘I have a crazy question. Can I have some of this red carpet?’” she recounts with amusement. Fortunately, he wasn’t strict at all. Thalia quickly got into her car, climbed onto the dumpster, put the carpet in the car, and drove off incognito.

This Woman Created a Huge Buzz!

Even though she found her dream décor, Thalia admits the carpet wasn’t built to last. So, she had to complete another challenging task: making it more durable. The young woman sacrificed her scissors to cut off the already damaged edges and vacuumed it. She just needs to find a border to build it look like new!

Soon, Thalia’s TikTok video reached over 6.4 million views. Internet users tried the same experience as the young woman, even if they didn’t have the same luck. “I found an artificial plant that must have come from the decoration,” said one person. Another internet user wrote: “There were also glitter and feathers from dresses. I demand to find the person who wore them”.
