Hungary to Face Serbia in Handball World Championship Qualifiers

Hungary’s men’s handball team will face Serbia in the qualifying round for the 2027 World Men’s Handball Championship.

The first leg of the final qualifying stage will be played in Serbia on either May 13th or 14th, with the return match set for May 17th in Veszprém.

Serbia secured their place in the final round after dominating Lithuania with a 42–25 victory on Thursday and a 33–24 win in the return leg on Sunday, completing a dominant double victory.

The winner of the 2027 Olympic qualification World Championship, taking place between January 13th and 31st, will qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, while teams finishing 2nd through 7th will participate in qualifying tournaments in the spring of 2028.
