Meta Platforms is developing an artificial intelligence agent to assist CEO Mark Zuckerberg with his work, according to a report Sunday in the Wall Street Journal. The move underscores the growing importance of AI across the tech industry as companies seek to improve efficiency and decision-making.
The AI agent is designed to expedite information gathering for Zuckerberg, providing answers that would typically require navigating multiple layers of personnel, the report stated.
Another internal AI tool, dubbed “Second Brain,” is similarly gaining traction within Meta. This tool is capable of indexing and querying documents for various projects.
The AI agent is still under development. Reuters was unable to independently verify the report, and Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Meta employees have begun utilizing personal agent tools, such as “My Claw,” which can access chat logs and work files, and communicate with colleagues or their agents on their behalf, the report indicated.
Meta has been accelerating its integration of AI technologies, including the December acquisition of Chinese AI startup Manus. Manus claims its AI agent outperforms OpenAI’s DeepResearch agent. The acquisition signals Meta’s commitment to staying at the forefront of AI innovation.
