Details of the Route 5 Crash

Police Chief Miguel Ángel Costa said the Honda Fit impacted the side of the Vía Cargo truck, which was hauling trailers loaded with packages. Both vehicles ended up on the shoulder of the road. The crash occurred on a straight section of the highway during nighttime hours with assisted traffic flow.

The driver of the Honda Fit was identified as Adriano Rodrigo Fabbricotti. The 31-year-old truck driver, a resident of Posadas, was unharmed.

Investigation Underway, Traffic Caution Advised

Authorities have classified the incident as “culpable homicide” and the case has been assigned to the 3rd Investigative Unit of the Mercedes Judicial Department, led by Dr. Lataro. The investigation will determine the circumstances leading to the collision.

Crews worked throughout the morning to remove the truck from the scene, and officials are advising motorists to exercise extreme caution when traveling through that section of Route 5. This incident underscores the importance of safe driving practices, particularly on major roadways.
