French rugby star Antoine Dupont and former Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere are enjoying a luxurious getaway on the island of Mauritius, and their accommodations are turning heads.
Antoine Dupont is back with the French national rugby team, XV de France, after a nearly year-long recovery from a serious injury sustained against Ireland. While some observers, like David Ellis, have noted he isn’t yet performing at 100%, estimating he’s at around 60% capacity, Dupont attributes the slower return to form to a mental challenge.
“You gain a setback when you come back from a long injury. I may not have had it physically, but mentally, it was hard to come back,” he shared with France TV after the recent match against England, expressing his eagerness for some time off.
“What I’m looking forward to most is having a week of vacation, being able to disconnect, having an empty schedule and just thinking about myself, that will do me decent,” he explained. To recharge, Dupont chose a sunny escape with his partner, former Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere.
A Villa Costing $5,175 a Night
Dupont, like many of his Toulouse-based international teammates, was excused from the match against UBB and has flown with Mittenaere to Mauritius. The couple is staying at the Royal Palm Beachcomber, located in Grand Baie, in the palace’s most exclusive offering.
As showcased in posts on the model’s social media, the pair have selected the Villa Royale, a 385 square meter residence that accommodates up to six guests and features a private pool and a beachfront kiosk.
This slice of paradise comes with a hefty price tag: $5,175 per night, including breakfast. The couple’s lavish vacation highlights the growing trend of high-profile athletes and celebrities seeking luxurious escapes during their off-season.
