As of July 1, 2026, pensions for 11 million Egyptian citizens will increase by up to 15 percent, according to an official decision announced by the National Authority for Social Insurance to support pensioners in the face of rising living costs.

The government initiative aims to enhance the purchasing power of retirees and improve their standard of living, particularly amid the continued increase in prices of essential goods and services faced by citizens in their daily lives. The move reflects broader efforts by Egypt to address economic pressures on its population.
