Escalating tensions in the region have led to increased cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israel, raising concerns about a wider conflict. On Wednesday, March 7, 2026, Hezbollah announced it had carried out 20 attacks using rockets and drones, targeting locations deep within Israel, including areas near Tel Aviv and Haifa.

According to reports, the attacks included a strike on the “Tel Hashomer” military base southeast of Tel Aviv, located approximately 75 miles from the border. Hezbollah also targeted the “Haifa Naval Base” and the “Stella Maris” observation and reconnaissance base, as well as the “Alta” military industries company and the Northern Region command headquarters at the “Dado” base. Al Jazeera reported on these developments.

Hezbollah issued urgent evacuation warnings to residents of the settlements of “Nahariya” and “Kiryat Shmona,” urging them to head south before launching rocket attacks and swarms of loitering drones toward those areas.

Further escalating the situation, on Tuesday, March 1, 2026, Hezbollah announced it targeted south of the city of Haifa with a barrage of rockets and drones, reportedly in retaliation for the death of a senior commander. YouTube coverage detailed the events.

More recently, on Wednesday, March 23, 2026, a senior correspondent for Al Hadath reported that Hezbollah launched 12 rockets toward Haifa and its surroundings. Al Hadath provided coverage of the incident.

These developments come amid a broader regional conflict that began on February 28, 2026, with continued intensive Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut. The increasing frequency of these exchanges underscores the growing instability in the region.
