POCO X8 Pro Debuts with Dimensity 8500-Ultra and High-Speed Performance
Xiaomi has expanded its performance-centric lineup with the introduction of the POCO X8 Pro, a device engineered for speed and efficiency. Positioned as a flagship-grade offering, the smartphone is powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, leveraging a TSMC 4nm manufacturing process. This “All-Big-Core” design allows for a maximum clock speed of up to 3.4GHz, pushing the device’s capabilities to a reported AnTuTu V11 score of 2,283,558.
The integration of such high-performance silicon underscores the ongoing trend of bringing flagship-level processing power to the broader enthusiast market, ensuring that demanding tasks and gaming remain fluid.
The POCO X8 Pro features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1268 x 2756 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate—adjustable for supported applications—and a 12-bit color depth capable of displaying 68 billion colors. For those prioritizing speed and data handling, the device is equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 high-speed reading storage.
On the hardware side, the device is powered by a 6500mAh (typ) battery that supports 100W HyperCharge technology. It also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, having been certified for submersion in still freshwater up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes under laboratory conditions. The camera system is led by a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
Beyond the standard Pro model, the series includes the POCO X8 Pro Max, which introduces additional utility such as eSIM support and the ability to provide reverse charging for Apple devices. Early testing indicates that the Pro Max maintains smooth performance even with gaming graphics settings set to maximum.
The X8 series arrives alongside other recent entries in the ecosystem, including the POCO M8 and POCO M8 Pro. This strategic rollout coincides with the 2026 Mi Fan Festival, further diversifying the brand’s offerings across different performance tiers.
