King Ahmed Fouad II, the last monarch of Egypt, visited Alexandria on Thursday, April 16, 2026, as part of a two-day royal tour of historic sites in the province.

Accompanied by his son Prince Mohammed Ali, daughter Princess Fawzia, and four grandchildren, the king began his visit at the historic Montaza Gardens, where he toured the royal palace, the Salamlek Palace, and the royal tram.

Later that evening, the royal family visited Café Farouk in the Bahari district, a popular local spot that his father, King Farouk, frequented decades ago. The king sat down at the seaside café, recalling memories of his father’s past visits to the establishment.

The visit was warmly received by local residents, who welcomed the king and his family during their tour of Alexandria’s cultural and historical landmarks.
