Beijing is set to host the 2026 World Aquatics Diving World Cup Final from May 1st to 3rd at the iconic “Water Cube” national swimming center, promising a thrilling competition among athletes from 17 countries and regions.

The event will see over 90 divers vying for nine gold medals, marking a significant test for the Chinese team as they navigate a novel competitive cycle. The competition is expected to showcase some of the world’s best diving talent.

Olympic champion Chen Yuxi expressed her excitement about competing in Beijing and at the familiar “Water Cube,” stating she hopes to achieve strong results. “It’s very familiar and comfortable to compete in the ‘Water Cube,’” Chen Yuxi said, according to reports. She also extended a warm welcome to spectators, encouraging them to experience the blend of traditional and modern culture Beijing offers.

Yet, the Chinese diving team has faced a last-minute adjustment to their lineup with the withdrawal of Cui Jiaqi. This has prompted an urgent reshuffling of the team’s pairings as they prepare for the competition.

Chen Yuxi will also be competing with a new partner for this event. While details weren’t specified, the change underscores the dynamic nature of team selection and preparation at this level of competition.

The World Cup Final represents a key opportunity for divers to demonstrate their skills and gain momentum as they appear ahead to future international events. The event is anticipated to be a showcase of diving excellence and a celebration of the sport.
