Corsair’s SCUF Gaming Launches Omega: A New High-Performance Standard for PS5 and PC
In a move to redefine the competitive gaming landscape, SCUF Gaming, a part of the Corsair family, has announced the global release of the SCUF Omega. Officially licensed for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, the Omega is positioned as the brand’s most advanced controller to date, engineered specifically to provide a professional-grade edge in eSports.
The development of the SCUF Omega is the result of 15 years of innovation and expertise in the competitive gaming sector. According to Tobias Brinkmann, Vice President and General Manager of Peripherals at Corsair, the new controller represents “the culmination of that journey and the start of a new stage,” reflecting the company’s dedication to high-level performance.
Designed to compete directly with high-end alternatives like Sony’s DualSense Edge, the SCUF Omega introduces several hardware enhancements aimed at reducing latency and increasing precision. The controller features mechanical inputs and instant triggers powered by Omron switches, delivering the rapid, consistent clicks typically associated with gaming mice. For PC users, the Omega supports a 1K polling rate, ensuring ultra-low input lag during intense gameplay.
To maximize control, the Omega includes 11 additional customizable inputs, comprising side buttons and rear triggers that allow players to keep their thumbs on the sticks for faster reactions. Precision is further enhanced by the inclusion of TMR Endurance Sticks, which are specifically designed to resist wear and tear while maintaining pinpoint accuracy.
The move toward a “PRO” designation is also evident in the controller’s physical design. SCUF has refined the ergonomics to improve grip and reduce overall weight, a feat achieved by removing the vibration modules. The device also includes an integrated rechargeable battery for wireless convenience.
Beyond the hardware, SCUF is integrating a software ecosystem to allow for deep personalization. A dedicated mobile app available on iOS and Android enables users to adjust response curves, dead zones and other configurations in real time. This level of customization signals a broader trend in the gaming industry toward hardware that can be precisely tuned to an individual player’s physiological needs, and playstyle.
While designed primarily for the PS5 and PS5 Pro, the SCUF Omega maintains broad versatility with compatibility for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices. This cross-platform functionality ensures that competitive players can maintain a consistent input method across different ecosystems.
The SCUF Omega is available now through the official SCUF Gaming online store, priced at 239.99 euros and offered in various color options.
