Salim Khan Shares Story of Early Days with Salman, Husband of Smriti Irani

Actress Smriti Irani learned a surprising story about her husband’s youthful adventures with actor Salman Khan during a recent interview, revealing a shared mischievous past and her own initial experiences in the film industry.

During a conversation on Mashable India’s YouTube channel, Irani recounted her first meeting with Salim Khan, Salman’s father. Khan jokingly revealed that Irani’s husband, Zubin Irani, and Salman were classmates who frequently engaged in unauthorized joyrides. “Do you know what your partner and my son used to do? They used to steal my car and drive off. Nikamme hai dono (Both of them are useless),” Khan reportedly said, with both men looking embarrassed. This anecdote highlights the close, long-standing relationships within the Bollywood community.

Irani also shared how she first connected with Shah Rukh Khan through her husband. She described persistently asking Zubin to arrange an interview with the actor, who playfully advised her against marriage. “He actually first told me that ‘Listen, don’t get married. I am telling you, don’t do it.’ I was like, ‘Bhai, too late.’” Her early foray into acting involved a small role in a film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Aditya Pancholi, where she was initially used as a silhouette in a scene, wearing a dress previously worn by Manisha Koirala in Akele Hum Akele Tum.

Irani’s story offers a glimpse into the personal connections and humorous beginnings often found within the Indian film industry, a sector that significantly impacts India’s entertainment economy. Officials have not yet commented on the story.
