Comedian Nicole Byer Details Unexpected Encounter with Lyft Driver

Comedian Nicole Byer recounted a story today of an awkward encounter with a Lyft driver who interrupted a private moment with a date, and a subsequent legal issue involving her dog.

Speaking on Brooke Candy’s “Unwrapped” podcast, Byer described an evening that began after meeting someone at Los Angeles’ Jumbo’s Clown Room. According to Byer, the encounter quickly moved to the back of a Lyft vehicle, specifically a Honda Civic. “I [gave him oral sex] in the back of a Lyft, and it was Honda Civic, so I’m [giving this man oral sex] in the back of another man,” Byer stated. “And [the driver] was like, ‘Can you guys just…,’ and I was like, ‘Sorry about that!’” The incident highlights the potential for unexpected interruptions in the gig economy.

The evening continued with further mishaps, including Byer’s wig falling off during the encounter. She also revealed she was previously sued after her Chihuahua, Clyde, bit a server at a comedy club. Byer explained that she adopted Clyde knowing he had a tendency to bite, having been informed by the shelter that he was “a biter and that he’s mean.” Despite this, she said he was affectionate towards her, but had bitten two friends and ultimately the comedy club employee. “He has bit two of my friends,” Byer said, “and then he bit a server at a comedy club — and then she sued me.” She noted the incident was covered by her homeowner’s insurance, despite Clyde weighing only 12lbs. Understanding dog bite liability is crucial for pet owners.

Upcoming guests on “Unwrapped” include Margaret Cho, Willam, and Courtney Stodden. Byer’s representatives have not yet commented on the story, but the podcast episode is generating significant discussion online about boundaries and public versus private behavior.
