Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan is set to release a new song, “Khaleek Gamed,” on November 22nd, just weeks after the November 7th passing of his father, Khaled Ramadan. The track is especially poignant for Ramadan, who describes the lyrics as a distillation of his father’s life lessons and guidance; a sentiment echoed by fans across social media platforms as the announcement. Production of the accompanying music video was paused out of respect following the elder Ramadan’s death and subsequent funeral held at the Mustafa Mahmoud Mosque in Cairo.

The song embodies “father’s commandments” that remained firmly in his memory

Just days after the passing of his father, Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan announced via Instagram that he is preparing to release a new song titled “Khaleek Gamed” on Wednesday, November 22nd, featuring singer Ely. Ramadan explained that the lyrics are not merely song words, but a summation of advice and guidance his late father repeatedly shared with him, considering the song to be an embodiment of “father’s commandments” that have stayed with him.

Ramadan revealed that the music video was filmed approximately two months ago in the United States, and its release was originally planned for earlier this month. However, the production company decided to postpone it out of respect following his father’s death on November 7th. The funeral was held at the Mustafa Mahmoud Mosque in Al Mohandiseen, and his father was buried in the 6th of October City cemetery.

The release of “Khaleek Gamed” comes as Ramadan continues his artistic activity, recently completing filming on his new movie, “Asad.” The film blends social, romantic, and suspenseful elements, tackling issues of racial discrimination and injustice in society. Directed by Mohamed Diab and starring Razan Jamal, Ali Qassim, and Majid Al Kadwani, the project is seen by fans as a continuation of his artistic journey alongside honoring his father’s memory. Ramadan remains one of the most popular and commercially successful artists in the Arab world, and this release is highly anticipated by his fanbase.
