Buksa’s Status in Question Ahead of International Duty

Jeremie Boga scored the lone goal for Juventus in the 38th minute, securing the victory. Adam Buksa was not included in the Udinese squad for the match, raising concerns about his fitness ahead of potential inclusion in the upcoming Poland national team camp. According to Tuttoudinese.it, Buksa is again experiencing issues with his calf.

Buksa is expected to undergo further testing to determine the extent of the injury and the length of his potential absence. He previously missed six Serie A matches earlier this year due to a calf injury, sidelining him for over a month.

The Polish forward recently showed promising form, scoring in a 3-0 win over Fiorentina and making a positive impact off the bench against Atalanta Bergamo in a 2-2 draw. Buksa has tallied two goals in 21 appearances for Udinese this season.

Despite Buksa’s absence, Udinese coach Luca Gotti had several attacking options available, including Nicolo Zaniolo, Idrissa Gueye, Keinan Davis and Vakoun Bayo. Davis currently leads Udinese in Serie A scoring with nine goals.

Buksa joined Udinese in August of last year from Midtjylland for a reported fee of €5 million.

Udinese coach Luca Gotti recently praised Buksa’s attitude, stating, “Adam wants more playing time, but he has had a season full of injuries. He started with a blow to the face, so he wore a mask. He had little time to find his rhythm. He is also not in the best mental shape, but that happens. Buksa can give us a lot, he needs to improve and he realizes that. He is an ambitious striker, his body language shows that he is not satisfied with his game.”

The status of Buksa will be a key consideration for Poland national team manager Michał Probierz as he prepares to announce his squad for the upcoming international matches. Robert Lewandowski and Karol Świderski are expected to be automatic selections, and Krzysztof Piątek, who has scored 13 goals in 28 matches for Al-Duhail, could also be in contention. Karol Czubak (14 goals in Ekstraklasa) and Sebastian Bergier (11 goals in Ekstraklasa) are also potential options.
