Adobe is expanding its artificial intelligence strategy with a voice-controlled assistant for Photoshop on the web and mobile platforms. A beta version offering unlimited use to subscribers is available until April.

Adobe continues to build out its AI capabilities. The company today launched a beta version of its AI assistant for Photoshop on web and mobile, introducing a latest approach to image editing – controlled by voice command.

What the new assistant can do

The AI assistant allows users to execute complex editing steps using voice commands. Removing objects, adjusting colors, and correcting exposure – all of this is intended to function with a simple spoken request. This is complemented by “AI Markup,” where users can draw desired changes directly on the canvas instead of navigating through menus.

Should investors sell now? Or is an entry into Adobe worthwhile?

The underlying Firefly model has also been updated. New additions include “Generative Fill,” “Generative Remove,” and “Generative Expand,” significantly expanding the toolkit for automated image editing. This latest move underscores Adobe’s commitment to integrating AI throughout its creative suite.

Access and Usage Terms

Adobe is implementing a phased rollout. Paying subscribers receive unlimited generations until April 9, 2026, incentivizing thorough testing of the new features. Users of the free plan are limited to 20 generations.

Strategy Behind the Launch

The focus on web and mobile is deliberate. Adobe is targeting users who require powerful image editing without the complexity of desktop software. Voice control significantly lowers the barrier to entry and opens Photoshop to a wider audience.

The stock is currently trading around 19 percent below its 200-day average – the market is apparently waiting for concrete evidence that the AI integration will noticeably boost growth. Whether the new assistant proves to be a fully-fledged feature after the beta period ends on April 9 will be an initial measure of user acceptance.
