Adriano Celentano Faces Paternity Claim – Legal Action Ensues

Adriano Celentano is turning to legal action after an interview with Antonio Maria Segatori, who claimed in the weekly magazine ‘Oggi’ that he is Celentano’s son. The singer has retained attorney Giulia Bongiorno to protect him “from any further speculation.”

The Artist’s Response

“First the alleged mother, now the alleged son,” the artist wrote on his social media profiles in a post simply signed ‘Adriano.’ “About half a century ago, a dust-up was raised by a woman who claimed I was the father of her son. That much-publicized legal action against me came to nothing. Today, a fifty-five-year-old man manages to get his moment in the spotlight by dredging up the same story and publicly declaring himself my presumed son. At this point, I believe This proves necessary to engage the services of lawyer Giulia Bongiorno to protect me from any further speculation.”

The Weekly ‘Oggi’ Report

According to the weekly magazine, the mother, Maria Luigia Biscardi, entered the Celentano circle in 1967, still a minor, after introducing herself at the Cantagiro music festival under the stage name Brenda Bis. The woman, who became pregnant at the end of 1969, before turning 18, claims the pregnancy resulted from a relationship with the singer. “Adriano began to court me,” Maria Luigia told ‘Oggi,’ providing the magazine with a detailed account of their intimate moments. “He was my idol, and I reciprocated his attentions.”

She continued, “We would meet in the recording studio when everyone else had left. When I told him I was expecting a child, he began to ignore me. My contract with the Celentano circle was terminated two years early, and I was left out in the cold, excluded from the world I had pinned all my hopes on.”

Previous Legal Proceedings

The situation previously went to court in 1975, when the mother filed a paternity suit in Rome. The proceedings were later dismissed due to the woman’s failure to appear, and Celentano publicly reacted in an interview, calling Maria Luigia “crazy” and denying her account. According to Antonio Segatori, his grandfather, a lawyer at the time, may have reached an agreement with the singer’s legal team. “In any case,” Segatori said, “whatever my grandfather signed does not concern me. My request for paternity is not subject to a statute of limitations.”

Now, the son is reopening the case in civil court. Represented by attorneys Manuela Maccaroni and Pierpaolo Salinetti, he has filed a petition with the Civil Court of Milan for a judicial declaration of paternity. The judge will be able to consider any biological tests, including a DNA test. “I’m not doing this for money,” Segatori said. “I just aim for to know who my father is. I have the right to know.”
