SAFF Professional Committee Dismisses Al-Hilal’s Complaint Over Abdullah Al-Hamdan’s Move to Al-Nassr

Al-Hilal has suffered a significant setback in its legal dispute regarding the transfer of international forward Abdullah Al-Hamdan. On April 7, 2026, the Professional and Players’ Status Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) officially rejected the club’s complaint against the 26-year-old striker following his high-profile move to Al-Nassr.

The controversy stems from the winter transfer window in January 2026, when Al-Hamdan transitioned from Al-Hilal to Al-Nassr. Al-Hilal management had alleged that the player’s contract with the “Leader” was still valid and claimed that Al-Hamdan had bypassed registration rules and professional conditions to facilitate the move.

However, the Professional Committee has now cleared Al-Hamdan of these charges, ruling that the striker did not circumvent any registration requirements. In a further blow to Al-Hilal, the committee also rejected the club’s request to impose sanctions on the player for the alleged unlawful termination of his contract. The committee clarified that this specific request was denied since the competent authority has not yet issued a final judgment on the matter of contract termination.

While the ruling is a victory for Al-Nassr and the player, the legal battle is not yet concluded. The Professional Committee confirmed that its decision is subject to appeal before the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center. Reports indicate that Al-Hilal officials have already decided to pursue an appeal to challenge the findings.

Al-Hamdan, who originally joined Al-Hilal in January 2021, has experienced a notable surge in performance since arriving at Al-Nassr. Recent data suggests the forward is currently outperforming his previous statistics, adding further weight to the importance of this legal resolution for both the player and his new club.
