Houston Rockets guard Alperen Sengun will accept the place of injured Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the All-Star roster.

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game will be held at Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Alperen Sengun was not initially named to the All-Star roster when the first lists were announced.

However, following an injury to Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, an opportunity arose for Sengun, and the news came from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. According to the official NBA website, Alperen Şengün has been added to Team World to replace Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

This marks the second consecutive NBA All-Star selection for Sengun, having as well been selected last season. The Turkish international becomes the first player from Turkey to be named an All-Star in back-to-back years.

The 23-year-old is averaging 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists this season for the Rockets.

The All-Star festivities will feature two teams comprised of U.S. Players – the USA Stars and USA Stripes – and a team of international players, Team World. The three teams, each with eight players, will compete in 12-minute games, with the top two teams advancing to a championship matchup.
