Alzheimer Nederland has launched the tenth edition of the Dementiemonitor, a survey designed to gather insights into the experiences of individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. The initiative aims to improve care and support for those affected by the condition, a growing public health concern as populations age.

Through the Dementiemonitor, both people with dementia and their caregivers can share their experiences with healthcare and support services. The survey will be available to complete until July 1, 2026. Alzheimer Nederland conducts the monitor every two years in collaboration with the Nivel research institute.

The data collected will be used to inform local policymakers and advisors in the Rivierenland region, according to Alzheimer Rivierenland. Alzheimer Nederland will similarly leverage the research findings for advocacy efforts at the local, regional, and national levels, targeting politicians, policymakers, insurers, and healthcare providers.

Participating in the Dementiemonitor takes approximately 20 minutes. Alzheimer Rivierenland emphasizes that a higher participation rate will lead to more reliable results. Those unable to complete the survey online can request a paper version.

For those seeking assistance or a paper copy of the survey, Netwerk Dementie Rivierenland can be reached at 06-30094436, or Alzheimer Rivierenland at 06-42359611, as reported by Demaasenwaler.nl.

Alzheimer Rivierenland is the regional branch of Alzheimer Nederland, serving the municipalities of Buren, Culemborg, Neder-Betuwe, Tiel, and West Betuwe. The organization provides activities, support, and guidance to individuals with dementia and their families.
