The controversy intensified on April 7, 2026, when tweets allegedly sent in Ungaro’s name to the former First Lady during Donald Trump’s first term became public. In response, Melania Trump held a surprise press announcement on April 8, 2026, explicitly denying any connection to Epstein. Ungaro, a Brazilian citizen born in Londrina in April 1984, first entered the orbit of the Epstein network as a 17-year-old model. According to reports, she was flown to New York City on a plane owned by Jeffrey Epstein, accompanied by her agent at the time, Jean-Luc Brunel. During this period, she was signed to ID Models, an agency established by Paolo Zampolli.
Her trajectory later moved into international diplomacy. In June 2014, Keith Mitchell, the Prime Minister of Grenada, appointed Ungaro as a United Nations Ambassador. In this role, she was responsible for the second committee and the Post-15th Agendas, and she worked under the 69th United Nations Vice President of the UN General Assembly focusing on the Blue Economy.
Still, Ungaro’s standing collapsed in 2025 when she was arrested in Miami. Authorities charged her with fraud, overstaying her visa, and operating an unlicensed cosmetic surgery clinic that specialized in Botox treatments. Following her arrest, she was placed in ICE custody for three months—a move reportedly made at the behest of her former partner, Paolo Zampolli. While in custody, Ungaro requested that an immigration judge deport her back to Brazil, where she previously held residency.

Ungaro and Zampolli, a confidante of Donald Trump, separated in 2023 and are currently engaged in an ongoing custody dispute over their son. Following her separation from Zampolli, Ungaro married a Brazilian doctor and resided in Aventura, Florida, prior to her legal issues.
