AMD Expands AI PC Options with Ryzen AI 400 Series
AMD is broadening its portfolio of artificial intelligence-powered personal computers with an expanded Ryzenâ„¢ AI 400 Series, bringing new CPUs, GPUs, and neural processing units (NPUs) to AM5 desktop systems. The move signals growing competition in the AI PC market as manufacturers seek to integrate more on-device AI capabilities.
The Ryzen AI 400 chips will offer up to 8 cores and Radeon 860M graphics, according to details released by AMD. However, the company noted that the application processing units (APUs) will not be available as standalone boxed units, but rather integrated into original equipment manufacturer (OEM) systems.
AMD also introduced the Ryzen AI 400 Pro series, featuring new Ryzen Pro processors for both desktop and notebook computers. The company is releasing APUs for the AM5 socket, part of the Ryzen AI 400 series.
These new processors are designed to enhance AI performance directly on the device, potentially improving efficiency and privacy for users. The expansion of the Ryzen AI 400 series to desktop and mobile workstations underscores AMD’s commitment to providing AI capabilities across a wider range of computing platforms.
