Amsterdam police have arrested a 24-year-aged man in connection with a shooting that left one person dead and another seriously injured earlier this month. The arrest comes as authorities continue to investigate the incident, which has prompted a call for witnesses.
The shooting occurred in the Slotervaart neighborhood of Amsterdam on the night of Saturday, March 14th, and early Sunday, March 15th. A 19-year-old man died at the scene, and a 21-year-old man was hospitalized with severe injuries, according to police. The 21-year-old has since been released from the hospital.
Officers responded to reports of the shooting around 1:30 a.m. Near the Koningin Wilhelminaplein and Terheideweg areas, AT5 reported. First responders attempted to revive the 19-year-old victim, but he succumbed to his injuries.
