Ducks Defeat Predators 5-2, Sennecke Shines in Nashville
Anaheim rookie Beckett Sennecke scored his third goal of the season as the Ducks defeated the Nashville Predators 5-2 on Tuesday night.
Sennecke, the third overall pick in this year’s draft, put the Ducks ahead in the second period with a wrist shot, extending Anaheim’s lead to 4-2. He now has five points in his first five NHL games. Ross Johnston added a goal and two assists, while Cutter Gauthier, Leo Carlsson, and Troy Terry also found the net for Anaheim. Lukas Dostal stopped 26 shots in the win.
Tyson Jost and Filip Forsberg scored for Nashville, but the Predators continued to struggle, dropping their fourth consecutive game and allowing 19 goals during that span. Goaltender Juuse Saros made 28 saves. This loss further complicates Nashville’s early season standings in a competitive Central Division. Anaheim took control of the game with two goals in the second period, capitalizing on a turnover by Nashville’s Brady Skjei that led to Sennecke’s decisive goal. The Ducks will continue their five-game road trip on Thursday in Boston, while the Predators will host Vancouver. You can find more information about the teams on the official NHL website.
Ducks coach Greg Cronin said the team’s focus on defensive responsibility was key to the victory.
