From London Luxury to Train “Chaos”: Andreia Rodrigues Shares Family Travel Mishaps

SIC presenter Andreia Rodrigues recently took to social media to document a family getaway to England that proved to be a mix of high-profile sports and unexpected travel hurdles. Accompanied by Daniel Oliveira and their daughters, Inês and Alice, the trip was designed to be a cultural experience for the children, though it didn’t move exactly as planned.

The family began their journey by spending Easter in London. Rodrigues shared images of the trip on April 8, 2026, emphasizing the value of traveling with children. “I believe that (whenever possible) traveling with our children is one of the best gifts we can give them,” she wrote, noting that providing her daughters with cultural experiences and world travel is a privilege.

However, the trip took a turn toward the hectic when the family headed to Manchester to visit close friends. The goal was to avoid the “chaos of airports” by taking the train, intended as a first-time experience for Alice and Inês. Unfortunately, the plan faltered when they missed their connection.

Rodrigues described the resulting journey as a “true adventure” and “complete chaos.” Facing cold weather and exhausted children, the family boarded the first available train to Manchester. The experience became a physical challenge, as Rodrigues recounted struggling with three oversized suitcases, a stroller and two bags on a packed train. “A whole hour holding it [the luggage] practically in the air,” she explained, jokingly adding that the ordeal served as a workout, noting that “even on vacation there was time to train.”

Despite the travel stress, the trip ended on a high note. The family spent quality time with friends, including Manchester City’s sporting director Hugo Viana and his wife, Raquel Gomes. The highlight of the visit included attending a “very special” Manchester City football match.

Reflecting on the rollercoaster experience, the presenter concluded that despite the setbacks, the “happy days” are what ultimately remain. This candid look into the realities of celebrity parenting highlights the unpredictable nature of family travel, even when the destination is a world-class sporting event.
