Dailes Theatre actor Andris Bulis will celebrate his 44th birthday with a performance in Efekts, a play about antidepressants. “On my birthday, I’ll be performing in Efekts, which is about antidepressants. Fitting for my 44 years (laughs). Performing on your birthday is a classic,” Bulis said. “I’ve been an actor for 23 and a half years, and I’ve spent half of my birthdays on stage. What can audiences gift me? Glass flowers – that’s what we call various alcoholic drinks with my colleagues. I like a good rum,” he added.
He shared that he celebrated his birthday a little early, gathering friends for a visit to the Zuzeum exhibition.
“I created a WhatsApp group, including childhood friends with whom I used to wet the bed. These are people I can call in the middle of the night. I’ve told everyone that if they want to give me a gift, it should be a picture of us together, or a donation that I’ll forward to charity. Last year, I received a great photo from Lithuanian producer Rimvīds Martinaitis from a film shoot where we’re hugging. I realized how valuable those shared memories with friends are. I’ve now created a special wall at home for such pictures.”
