Apple Announces March 4 ‘Special Experience’ Event in Fresh York
Apple has announced a special event scheduled for March 4 in New York City, signaling a potential unveiling of new products. The event, described as a “special Apple Experience,” will start at 9 a.m. ET, according to PCMag.
Even as Apple has not specified the focus of the event or indicated plans for a livestream, rumors suggest several product announcements are likely. These include a new, more affordable iPhone – potentially the iPhone 17e – refreshed iPad models, and a possible lower-cost MacBook, reports indicate. The anticipation surrounding a more accessible MacBook highlights the ongoing demand for Apple products across a wider range of price points.
The rumored iPhone 17e is expected to build upon the design of the iPhone 16e, with internal specification upgrades. These upgrades could include the A19 chip, the C1X modem for improved 5G and LTE connectivity, and the N1 chip for enhanced Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 performance, according to sources. The C1X modem is reportedly twice as fast as the C1, and the N1 chip aims to improve the performance of features like Personal Hotspot and AirDrop.
In addition to the iPhone, speculation points to the potential release of a new, more affordable MacBook. Reports suggest Apple has been testing six different color options for the device, iPhone Mania reports. This could represent a significant shift in Apple’s MacBook strategy, potentially broadening its appeal to a wider consumer base.
Apple’s Fifth Avenue store in New York City will be open until 10:00 p.m. On March 4, and remains open with similar hours throughout the week, as detailed on Apple’s website. The store offers a range of services, including demos of Apple Vision Pro, order pickup, and Genius Bar appointments.
The March 4 event follows an announcement from Apple in late February last year regarding the iPhone 16e. PCMag notes that Apple typically unveils its flagship smartphones in September, with further releases throughout the year.
