Apple has announced its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place from June 8 through June 12, with a keynote event scheduled for Monday, June 8. The conference will be held at Apple Park in California, with opportunities for both in-person and online participation.
During WWDC 2026, Apple is expected to unveil the next generation of its software platforms, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27. This annual event provides developers with a first look at the latest software technologies coming to Apple’s devices.
The company is also anticipated to share updates regarding AirPods and HomePod features. According to reports, Apple may be prioritizing performance improvements in iOS 27, drawing comparisons to the macOS Snow Leopard release, which focused on stability and system refinements. Engineers are reportedly concentrating on bug reduction, reliability enhancements, and modernizing older system components.
A significant upgrade to Siri is also on the horizon. Bloomberg has reported that Apple is testing a more advanced, conversational AI assistant version of Siri, designed for deep integration across its software ecosystem. This development signals the ongoing evolution of virtual assistants and the increasing integration of artificial intelligence into everyday technology.
Apple introduced a new versioning strategy last year, skipping iOS 19 and moving directly to iOS 26 to align software releases with the corresponding year. This approach will continue with the upcoming releases, including iOS 27. Developers interested in attending the in-person conference at Apple Park can apply to be selected through a random lottery, with a deadline of March 30 and notification of selections expected on April 2.
“WWDC is one of the most exciting times for us at Apple because it’s a chance for our incredible global developer community to come together for an electrifying week that celebrates technology, innovation, and collaboration,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “One can’t wait to see many of you online and in person for what is sure to be one of our best WWDC events yet.”
