Apple has announced its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026) will take place from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The event will showcase the latest Apple software and technologies, with a particular focus on advancements in artificial intelligence.
The conference will be primarily an online experience, accessible globally, but will also include an in-person component for developers and students at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, on June 8. Apple announced the dates on March 23, 2026.
“WWDC is one of the most exciting times for us at Apple because it’s a chance for our incredible global developer community to approach together for an electrifying week that celebrates technology, innovation, and collaboration,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “People can’t wait to see many of you online and in person for what is sure to be one of our best WWDC events yet.”
The conference will kick off with a keynote and Platforms State of the Union address on June 8. Throughout the week, developers will have access to over 100 video sessions and interactive group labs, providing direct engagement with Apple engineers and designers. The event will be accessible through the Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube channel, as well as the Apple Developer bilibili channel in China.
iOS 27 and AI to Take Center Stage
Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation operating systems, including iOS 27, alongside updates for iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS. The unveiling of iOS 27 is anticipated to be a key highlight of WWDC 2026.
According to reports, the company is prioritizing artificial intelligence advancements, with significant updates expected for Siri and broader AI integration across its core applications. This push into AI comes as competition intensifies in the generative AI space.
Apple will also be accepting applications through March 30, 2026, for developers and students to attend the in-person event at Apple Park. Those selected will be notified by April 2, 2026. Distinguished Winners will be automatically invited to a three-day experience in Cupertino.
The company is reportedly working to catch up with competitors in the development of generative AI, with improvements to Siri being a key area of focus.
Beyond software updates, Apple is expected to showcase new AI-powered features designed to enhance the user experience, including visual search and task automation. The event underscores the growing importance of AI in shaping the future of consumer technology.
