Argentina’s chief of cabinet, Manuel Adorni, met with provincial governors and a finance minister in New York on Wednesday as part of “Argentina Week,” a government initiative to attract foreign investment. The meeting, held at Bank of America headquarters, included governors Raúl Jalil of Catamarca, Juan Pablo Valdés of Corrientes, Marcelo Orrego of San Juan, Carlos Sadir of Jujuy, and Rolando Figueroa of Neuquén. Alejandro Abraam, the finance minister of Chaco, attended on behalf of Governor Leandro Zdero.
The purpose of the meeting was to establish a coordinated process for directing investment inquiries, projects, and analyses from U.S. Businesses – generated during Argentina Week – to the appropriate provincial governments. This move comes as President Javier Milei continues his efforts to revitalize the Argentine economy and attract international capital, particularly from the United States. The development underscores the government’s focus on decentralizing investment opportunities and fostering collaboration between the national government and its provinces.
