PC single-player game ARIE: Moonprayer is set to launch on May 13, 2026, with a newly released Japanese voice actor preview, the Taiwanese studio PhantomWorks announced on Wednesday, March 18.
The 3D exploration-narrative game centers around a world facing destruction as the moon continues to fall. Players take on the role of Dialo, a man who can perceive the memories of the deceased, tasked with accompanying a former loved one’s daughter to the mountain closest to the moon and finding the scenery left behind by that person before the complete of the world.
The Japanese trailer, titled “Night Moon,” confirms the voice cast and reveals the release date. According to the studio, the voice actors showcase the emotional depth of the game’s world.
The voice cast includes:
- Matsunaga Yangping as Dialo Monte
- Yukawa Asaki as Laye Mosternier
- Tsuchida Takuya as Zali Tren
- Usubui Yuri as Teresa Mosternier
Matsunaga Yangping is known for his role as Kenji in the animated film Fujimoto Tree 17-26: The Prophecy of Nayuto. Yukawa Asaki voiced the main character, Tokimichi Hojo, in the television anime The Duke of Frill. Tsuchida Takuya plays the Operator in the game Arknights: Endworld, and Usubui Yuri is known for her role as Ripohime Kisaragi in The Idolmaster.
A playable demo with Japanese voice acting is now available on Steam and Epic Games Store.
ARIE: Moonprayer will also be showcased at the Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2026, taking place March 20-21. The game will be playable at the event.
PhantomWorks, founded in 2023, is a fully remote game studio based in Taipei. The team is composed of a core member and collaborators from various professional fields across three different time zones. The studio’s first game, ARIE: Moonprayer, is described as an exploration adventure experience in a Japanese anime style. The announcement highlights the growing presence of Taiwanese independent game development on the international stage.
The game draws inspiration from various role-playing games and adventure games with rich world-building and expansive 3D environments, aiming to create a melancholic yet beautiful world. Players interact with the environment using the protagonist’s instrument to operate the fantastical power of “Chanson,” and experience a multi-layered auditory journey.
