David Raya (8/10):
The Arsenal goalkeeper delivered a sensational reflex save from a Chelsea corner that nearly dipped inside the near post, and consistently showcased sharp reflexes to deny Joao Pedro’s attempts. Raya proved to be Arsenal’s standout performer on the day – a testament to his crucial impact.
Jurrien Timber (7/10):
Timber posed a genuine threat going forward in the first half, and continued to make his presence felt defensively after the break, ultimately restoring Arsenal’s lead with a well-placed header for their second goal.
William Saliba (7/10):
Saliba broke the deadlock with a close-range header that deflected off a Chelsea player on its way in, but was fortunate to escape blame after a 60th-minute giveaway to Palmer, and experienced a few other tense moments dealing with Joao Pedro.
Gabriel Magalhaes (7/10):
Magalhaes assisted Saliba’s opening goal with an impressive leap at the far post and even attempted a daring lobbed effort. He remained diligent in his defensive duties, winning numerous duels, though he did receive a yellow card for a foul on Joao Pedro.
Piero Hincapie (5/10):
Hincapie was at fault for the build-up to Chelsea’s equalizer, misjudging James’ curling corner delivery. His overall performance is likely to be a concern for Arteta, as the Ecuadorian international struggled to make an impact both defensively, and offensively.
