A fire broke out in a residential home on Nesøya island in Asker, Norway, shortly after midnight on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
According to police reports, both residents were safely evacuated by a security guard and did not sustain serious injuries. Firefighters are currently working to determine the extent of the damage.
The fire is believed to have originated from an electric blanket.
“We received a call from the security company reporting a fire in a bedroom. We responded with six fire trucks,” said Kim Angell, a watch commander with the Asker and Bærum fire department, to Budstikka.
By 12:37 a.m. Local time, the fire department reported that the blaze had been extinguished and the scene was under control.
Both residents were transported to a local medical center for further evaluation.
