Lithuanian basketball player Augustas Marčiulionis, 23, has signed a contract with BC Rytas through the end of the 2026-2027 season. The point guard returns to his home club after four years of development in the United States, where he honed his skills and progressed through the organization’s youth system. Marčiulionis joins Rytas from the NBA G League, where he played for the South Bay Lakers this season.

“We are delighted that Augustas has decided to return to his home club,” said Artūras Jomantas, Sports Director of Vilnius Rytas. “We have maintained constant contact and monitored his growth while he played in the USA. He is a true Vilnius native who, I realize, consistently followed Rytas’ results and remained part of our community even while abroad. This agreement is a strategically essential step for the club’s future, aiming to build a team core comprised of players developed within our system.”

“It feels incredible. I can’t wait to return to the city and the club where I grew up,” said Marčiulionis. “Almost five years have passed, during which I have improved and matured significantly. I am ready to give my all to this club and city.”

During the 2025-2026 season with the South Bay Lakers in the G League, Marčiulionis averaged 7.9 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game, according to the NBA G League website. This return to his hometown club signifies a strategic move for Rytas, emphasizing the development of players within their system.

Marčiulionis arrived in Vilnius on Wednesday evening and is expected to make his debut with Rytas in a crucial game against Le Mans Sarthe Basket on March 11.

Meanwhile, Jordan Walker, who previously played for Rytas, averaged 13.8 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL).

In international competition, Walker averaged 12.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in the FIBA Champions League.

Walker’s last game with Rytas was during the Citadele King Mindaugas Cup, where he scored 11 points and recorded 3 assists in the final.

“Considering the current team situation and the vision for the roster, we mutually agreed to part ways,” said Jomantas regarding Walker’s departure. “We aim for to thank Jordan for his time in Vilnius and his efforts representing our club. We appreciate his contribution to the team’s results and wish him all the best in his future career.”
