Leading the charge was 14-year-old Acelya Cetinkaya from Suben, who secured first place in the National & Folklore category for her age group. Performing a Gypsy Dance rooted in classical ballet, Cetinkaya captivated the judges with a blend of technical precision and undeniable charm. A veteran of the studio since the age of four, her victory is a testament to years of discipline and perseverance, adding to a growing collection of gold and silver medals.

The gold-medal streak continued with 9-year-old Samira Evangelista of Schärding. Evangelista claimed first place in her age group’s National Folklore category with a spirited Polka performance. Known for her poise and artistry, this marks her second gold medal, further cementing her reputation as a rising talent in the dance community.

The competition similarly highlighted the versatility of the school’s performers. Thirteen-year-old Emilia Stiegler of Suben tackled the demanding discipline of classical ballet with pointe shoes, earning fourth place. Her modern piece, titled “Fighter” and set to the crossover music of David Garrett, provided a powerful demonstration of the strength and elegance inherent in pointe work.

Adding to the excitement, Cetinkaya and Stiegler teamed up for a high-energy duet in the Musical category. Their performance of “Hello,” featuring music from the iconic film Dirty Dancing, earned them a tie for fourth place with competitors from Graz. The duo’s chemistry and performance earned them a standing ovation and high praise from their fellow competitors.

The event, recognized for its seamless organization and welcoming atmosphere, remained accessible to the community, offering free admission for parents and visitors. These achievements underscore the rigorous training and artistic dedication required to excel in the competitive landscape of European dance, highlighting the growing influence of the Ballettschule Krejsa.
