Flick Names Starting XI!

Joan García is fit to start, and is in the lineup. Araújo is the only change to the team that faced Newcastle, replacing the injured Eric. Questions remain about the defensive setup. The German coach is holding nothing back.

Barcelona XI: Joan García, Cancelo, Araújo, Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Bernal, Pedri, Fermín, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Lewandowski.

“Few surprises in Barcelona’s starting eleven. All eyes are on Joan García, who was injured on Wednesday against Newcastle and, having been called up to the Spain national team, starts in goal for the league leaders. Lamine, Fermín and Raphinha will form the attacking midfield line, and Lewandowski returns ahead of Ferran, who has gone from an undisputed starter a few months ago to an undisputed substitute.”

“The objective for Flick, after Girona’s defeat, was to finish with 15 points out of 15, and he is sparing no effort before the break. He’s putting out the team he considers to be the starting lineup. All to achieve that 15-point goal.”

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has announced his starting lineup for today’s match, with goalkeeper Joan García surprisingly included despite picking up an injury in Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Newcastle United. García’s inclusion provides a boost to the Catalan club as they aim to maintain their position atop the league table.

The only change to the lineup from the Newcastle match sees Ronald Araújo slot into the starting eleven, taking the place of Eric García, who is sidelined with a muscle problem. The defensive configuration remains a point of interest as Flick appears set to field a strong side.

The full Barcelona XI reads: Joan García, Cancelo, Araújo, Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Bernal, Pedri, Fermín, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Lewandowski.

Flick is clearly prioritizing securing a strong run of form, especially following Girona’s recent victory, and is determined to collect all 15 points available before the upcoming international break. This commitment is reflected in his decision to deploy what he believes is his strongest possible team.

The team will look to continue their winning ways and solidify their lead in the league standings.
