Bayern Munich delivered a dominant performance, overwhelming Atalanta with a resounding 6-1 victory on Saturday, March 6. The German powerhouse showcased their attacking prowess, leaving no doubt as to their superiority in Bergamo.

Michael Olise spearheaded the attack with a brace, netting goals in the 22nd and 64th minutes – both strikingly similar finishes. Josip Stanisic opened the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by Serge Gnabry extending the lead in the 25th. Nicolas Jackson added another in the 52nd, and Jamal Musiala completed the rout with a goal in the 67th minute.

Atalanta’s struggles prompted a tactical shift early in the second half, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini substituting forward Gianluca Scamacca for defender Berat Djimsiti, seemingly in an attempt to stem the tide. However, Bayern continued to press, and Jackson capitalized on a swift counterattack. A precise pass from Alphonso Davies found Luis Díaz, who set up Jackson for a clinical finish, pushing Bayern’s lead to 4-0 in the 52nd minute.

Olise’s second goal mirrored his first, showcasing his ability to cut inside and unleash a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area, leaving Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi with no chance.

Musiala then extended the advantage, capitalizing on a low cross from Jackson and slotting the ball home from close range. Bayern nearly added another in the 76th minute when Dayot Upamecano’s header struck the post.

Atalanta managed a consolation goal in the 93rd minute, with Pasalic finding the net after a scramble in the box following a cross from Bellanova. The late goal, however, did little to diminish Bayern’s commanding victory.

The win solidifies Bayern Munich’s position as a formidable force in the competition.
