Beijing is preparing for continued wintry weather, with rain and snow expected throughout the day on March 1. The forecast calls for slightly cooler temperatures, prompting officials to advise residents to take precautions against slippery roads and cold conditions.

Weak precipitation fell across parts of Beijing yesterday, with some western and northern areas experiencing light snow or sleet. The plains saw scattered light rain or sleet, and most of the city saw high temperatures ranging from 1 to 3 degrees Celsius, creating a chilly feel.

The Beijing Meteorological Observatory forecasts cloudy conditions turning to overcast on Saturday, with winds shifting from north to south at 2 to 3 levels. The high temperature is expected to reach 6 degrees Celsius. Overnight, conditions will turn cloudy again with the possibility of rain, sleet, or light snow, as winds shift from south to north at 1 to 2 levels, with a low of 0 degrees Celsius.

Sunday’s forecast indicates continued cloudy skies and lingering rain or snow. Temperatures will drop slightly, with a high of 4 degrees Celsius and a low expected to fall below freezing.

Authorities are urging residents to dress warmly and be cautious of hazardous travel conditions due to wet and slippery roads and reduced visibility. The continued cold weather underscores the need for preparedness as the region transitions between seasons.
