Stavanger Oilers kept their hopes of reaching the Norwegian NM-finale alive after a thrilling overtime victory against Storhamar. Trenton Bliss scored the decisive goal with just 25 seconds remaining in the second overtime period, leveling the best-of-seven semifinal series at 2-2.
The game was tied 2-2 after regulation time, forcing the extra period. Amil Krupic initially put Storhamar ahead early in the first period, but Zack Andrusiak answered for Stavanger just four minutes later.
Stefan Espeland restored Storhamar’s lead in the second period with a power-play goal. However, Andreas Klavestad forced overtime for the Oilers with a late goal in the third, likewise on the power play.
Storhamar, looking to secure their third consecutive NM title, will now travel to Hamar for the fifth game of the series on Friday. The Oilers will be looking to capitalize on their home-ice advantage and force a sixth game.
In the other semifinal matchup, VÃ¥lerenga and Frisk Asker are also locked in a tight contest, with Frisk Asker currently leading the series 2-1.
The NM-semifinals are a best-of-seven series.
