Water Service Interruptions Planned for Bogotá and Soacha Through March 6
Residents of Bogotá and Soacha, Colombia, should prepare for scheduled water service interruptions from March 3 to March 6, 2026, as the Bogotá Water and Sewerage Company (EAAB) conducts maintenance and repairs to the water supply network. The disruptions are intended to minimize the impact of potential future failures in the city’s aging infrastructure.
The EAAB announced the planned outages will affect several neighborhoods. On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Barrios Unidos locality will experience a 24-hour interruption in the Muequetá and La Esperanza areas, specifically between Calle 57 and Calle 68, and Carrera 14 and Carrera 24, beginning at 9:00 a.m. This outage is for preventative maintenance.
Too on March 3, the Chapinero locality will be affected. Residents of El Chicó, Chicó Norte, and Chicó Norte II Sector, between Carrera 15 and Carrera 45, and Calle 88 and Calle 100, will be without water for 24 hours starting at 8:00 a.m., also due to preventative maintenance.
Further disruptions are expected in the Bosa locality, impacting Bosa Centro and Bosa La Estación. Details regarding the timing and scope of these outages were not immediately available. Bogota.gov.co provides a full schedule of affected areas.
These works aim to improve the water supply in Bogotá and surrounding municipalities. The EAAB is urging residents to plan accordingly for the temporary suspension of service. The disruptions come as authorities also address concerns about security in Soacha, as reported by local news outlets, and as the city monitors public health concerns like measles. Caracol Radio reports that similar disruptions are expected through March 6.
