A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the Torre Prisma building in Mexico City on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, disrupting operations at the offices of the Federal Judiciary Council (PJF). The incident underscores the growing security concerns facing government institutions in the region.

Authorities were alerted to the potential threat around 10:00 AM when a security guard at the building, located at 2065 Avenida Insurgentes Sur at the intersection of Miguel Ángel de Quevedo, received a call from an individual claiming to be a member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The caller reportedly threatened to detonate a bomb within the building.

Following the report, authorities activated an immediate response protocol, initiating a full evacuation of the 14-story building, which also has five basement levels. Approximately 1,000 people – including employees and visitors – were safely moved to designated secure zones while a thorough search was conducted.

The operation involved a coordinated effort from multiple agencies, including the Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), with patrols from the San Ángel sector and the Auxiliary Police Force; the “Zorros” Task Force, specialists in explosives detection; medical units from ERUM; and personnel from Civil Protection and the fire department.

By 10:50 AM, the entire building had been cleared. After a meticulous search of all levels, including the underground parking areas, the “Zorros” team confirmed that no explosive devices were found. Authorities declared the building “all clear” and authorized personnel to return to work before noon.

The Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC CDMX) confirmed its officers assisted in the evacuation and conducted a comprehensive search of the building, finding no objects that posed a risk to anyone’s safety.

While emergency crews have left the scene, a security presence remains in the area as a precautionary measure. No arrests have been made in connection with the threat or the initial phone call, according to early reports.
